Local Shows with Independent Promoters

In recent years, concert clubs across the country have started working more closely with independent promoters than they have in the past. For instance, Studio Seven in Seattle books a lot of shows with a company out of Cleveland called Gorilla Productions. Gorilla Productions specializes in coordinating local concerts for local bands. They also offer a consultation program for local bands on the in and outs of the music business.

With smaller concert clubs working so closely with independent promoters, it’s no surprise that the venues are having very little trouble booking up their calendars. But simply getting shows is not the only way production companies are helping local bands. They also help to up the attendance level of shows as well as finding a way for local bands to make more money than they have in the past. In previous years, any groups that made around $50 on a local show were doing pretty good. But now a band can make up to $500 in a single night- that is, if they’re able and willing to work hard and bring a crowd along with them to their show.
